Not many people have heard of the band entitled "The Sweet." They are a group of four men: Brian Connolly, Steve Priest, Andy Scott, and Mick Tucker. Mick and Brian started the band in '66 and were later joined by Steve and Andy. Their song "Blockbuster" is noted for being one of their heavier pop-rock numbers and made #1 in '73. Their main sucess was in bubblegum anthems such as "Little Willy" and "Funny Funny." I had never heard of this group until this summer during our trip to camp. Of the songs I have heard; "Wig-Wam Bam", "Little Willy", and "Ballroom Blitz" are my favorite. Select songs have grown on me more than others, but I still cannont convince my parents that any of "The Sweet" songs are worth listening to.
